My name is Panashe Agatha Moyosvi and I am a Clinical Psychologist. I completed my masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of Cape Town and went on to do my internship at the Free State Psychiatric Complex. I then completed my community service at Tambo Memorial Hospital.
Seeking therapy can be a very daunting process and I would just like to explain a bit about what you can expect when you decide to come for psychotherapy with me. Many times people find themselves stuck in unhealthy patterns or habits which they can't seem to break out of. If you are one of those people then you are not alone and therapy is something you may want to consider. As human beings what we think we know about ourselves and our minds is just but the tip of the iceberg.
My approach to therapy focuses on building insight and having an understanding of some unconscious feelings that drive human behavior. To this end therapy with me entails understanding the root cause of the patterns and behaviors that you may be stuck in rather than just behavior modification. The hope is that once you have that insight, change begins to happen. This approach to therapy is Psychodynamic, however I do understand that people are different and psychodynamic may not be what others need. Having been trained in a number of different modalities, I ensure that I correctly formulate and treat each client according to what they need. I work mainly with individual adults and couples who may be facing a variety of difficulties, these include depression, anxiety, bipolar and trauma related challenges. I also have a very special interest in grief.
It is okay to not be okay and you don't have to suffer in silence.
