ABOUT US
Psych Central was incorporated in 2019, with head psychologist Christel Roets. Psych Central is multi-faceted with two main functions, we offer mental health care services to the general public in the private sector, and we also offer a support structure for newly qualified or existing, mental health care practitioners.

Whilst we do offer in-person facilities for our practitioners to practice from, we've now slightly shifted our focus to online psychotherapy, because we've seen a change in trends, from practitioners wanting more freedom, and clients wanting more flexibility.
Psych Central has now matured into a well organized and safe space, embodying tranquility, stability, and above all, flexibility for everyone here.​ Starting with only 1 psychologist, we’ve now grown to more than 25 top psychologists.
Before we dive into the specifics of joining, we'd like to introduce our admin team.

STARTING AN
ONLINE PRACTICE
Like most of the world, everything is going online, and as scary as it may seem, it actually makes a lot of sense.
​
Psychotherapy is no different, it is much more convenient for both practitioner and client alike. You and your client can enjoy the comfort of your own space, whilst still providing a crucial service.
​
And, with Psych Central infrastructure behind you, it cannot get any easier. You literally do not have to do anything, except log online and conduct the session, we handle the rest.
Our business model is a unique initiative, in that it allows our practitioners to determine their own working schedules, client capacity, and building personal relationships with their clients, all whilst we take care of the tedious admin, marketing, and business related issues. You can even join Psych Central whilst working for another organization.
This minimizes the risk and efforts for you, the psychologist, and maximizes your time to practice what you're passion about.​

We take care of admin, including collecting fees, making appointments, taking calls, paperwork, and a ton of other administrative duties. You'll benefit from an entire admin team and organizational structure, trained and dedicated to make your practice run smoothly. We make every effort to give your clients the best experience, not only with the psychologist, but from the time they land on our website.

We're fully online and capable. This means that all of the tedious work is done remotely and effortlessly. You just check your digital calendar for any appointments, and join your client online via Zoom. All the necessary admin, payments, etc. is done in the background and remotely, so you don't have to worry about anything.

We do marketing, spending hours, and thousands to drive clients your way. This means you benefit from our top-down marketing strategy that lowers cost yet increases exposure. No need to put yourself out there, we'll do that for you.

You get paid in bulk at month end, which means that it still feels like a salary at the end of each month, so you know what to expect. You determine your capacity and income needs.

You make your own hours. You can allocate any number of hours and days to Psych Central, however, keep in mind to maintain consistence when allocating time slots.

PAYMENT
GETTING PAID
Throughout the month, we’ll keep a log of all the sessions you’ve had and pay you in bulk.

WHAT RATE WILL I GET PAID?
​
You get paid a flat rate of R700 / Session of 51 minutes.
​
Note: that these are fixed rates and will be paid to you regardless of what we charge the client, either cash or medical aid. You'll even get paid even if the client has not yet paid Psych Central.
REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree in psychology

You need to be a qualified psychologist and registered for private practice with the HPCSA. (No need to be registered with the BHF.)

Comply with CPD guidelines as set by the HPCSA.​

A private space where you can conduct your online sessions.

A fast and stable internet connection.

A smart device from which you'll conduct your online sessions.

Backup power in the event of load shedding.
