Counselling psychologist

I am a biracial Counselling Psychologist who believes strongly is matters relating to acceptance and diversity. I obtained my masters degree (Master of Arts in Community-Based Counselling Psychology) as well as my Undergrad and Honours degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand. My training involved providing therapy to students registered at the University of the Witwatersrand as well as working in Mookgopong, Limpopo on the Transnet Phelophepa Train for 2 weeks.

My Masters thesis investigated resilience in students who experienced childhood poverty. The second year of my Masters was my internship year which I completed at PsyCaD at the University of Johannesburg. This provided me with great holistic training and more experience with a range of various psychological difficulties, as well as working with a crisis line.

My approach is focused on adjusting the space to each client's individual needs. Every story, feeling, or emotion is valuable and important. I work with various theoretical frameworks/modalities including:

Psychodynamic Therapy
Narrative Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
Mindfulness
Solution-Focused Therapy
Impact (Creative) Therapy
