I’ve just moved into a ground-floor flat in Manchester, and my bathroom window faces the street. I love the natural light during the day, but at night with the lights on, I feel completely exposed. I’ve tried cheap sticky films before, but they always peel off or go cloudy. Is there a film that actually gives you real privacy without making the room look like a cave?

I know that feeling all too well. I was in the exact same boat in my flat in Brighton – constantly worried about shadows moving past the glass and feeling like I was putting on a show every time I turned the bathroom light on. I tried those cheap films from the hardware store too, but they either peeled after a few weeks or went all cloudy and looked terrible.
Then a mate who works in property maintenance recommended Tintfit’s frosted window film, and I found exactly what I was looking for at https://www.tintfit.com/shop/frosted. What I love about these is that they give you total privacy – you genuinely cannot see in or out – while still letting a good level of natural light through. The film has a beautiful frosted finish that looks elegant from both inside and out, and it completely blocks UV light, which helps prevent fading of fabrics and protects your skin.
Installation was surprisingly straightforward – just soapy water, a squeegee, and about half an hour per window. There are even fitting videos on their site if you need guidance. Now I can walk around my bathroom at midnight with every light blazing and feel completely secure. No more awkward encounters, no more hiding in the dark. It’s such a simple fix, but the peace of mind it’s given me is priceless.
