Counselling Psychologist

My name is Calvin Hibbard, and I’m a counselling psychologist with a passion for creativity, learning, and understanding the ways our attachments and relationships shape our lives. I have been privileged to work in a variety of settings with diverse individuals from many different backgrounds and with a wide range of difficulties. These experiences have enriched my worldview and my practice in ways I can only be grateful for.

I naturally gravitate toward therapeutic approaches that center the relationship itself, as I believe it is within genuine, collaborative conversation that people reconnect with their authentic selves. To me, this is where meaningful growth and change occur.

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic frameworks, but I maintain a non-authoritative, conversational stance. This allows me to integrate a range of therapeutic approaches based on the unique needs of each client. At the heart of each therapeutic encounter is a commitment to what best serves the individual in front of me.

Beyond this, I hold that our mental, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical experiences are inextricably intertwined. For this reason, my work is committed to recognizing and honoring the whole person within their many contexts and environments.

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.”
― Carl R. Rogers
