Expecting Mama Support Group

Becoming a mother, weather for the first time or for the third time, can be a very exciting but overwhelming experience. With so many changes that your body goes through as well as all the responisbility and unknowns that comes with it, you are allowed to feel a bit overwhelmed and unsure at times. It can also be difficult to manage should you experience mental health difficulties beforehand, such as anxiety or depression. 

The Expecting Mama Support Group will be facilitated by Christel Roets, clinical psychologist and new mom, and can be claimed back from your medical aid (please request an invoice should you want to claim back the session rate). 

Feeling anxious, excited, frustrated, scared (the list can go on) are all very normal feelings and having a place to make sense of this flood of emotions that can be very heightened with hormones can be very useful. 

Once you have joined The Expecting Mama Support Group you will also be added to a private whatsapp group where you will have access to helpful resources and reminders on a weekly basis. This is not compulsory and you can opt to not be added to the group. 

The group is open to new members on a weekly basis, to share their experiences and learn from each other. We will be meeting on Zoom online. You can thus join sessions once-off, weekly or on an adhock basis as and when you feel like it - there is no commitment necessary from your side. The group will be limited to 8 participants per session.
