Therapy is a means to learn about, access and use this power. In a society that places value on the performance of success, strength and happiness, it is easy to overlook the value of human connection, mental health and progress, no matter how gradual.
My therapeutic interests are varied but are founded on a passion for connection and providing a safe, non-judgmental space for people to share, explore and grow. If nothing else, I am an advocate for having yourself reflected back at you in a supportive and empowering space. Through my own personal therapy I understand the apprehension around sharing intimate information. However, I have consistently observed the value of being seen, understood and challenged in therapy.
I have been trained in a wide variety of therapeutic frameworks, and therefore, will take the lead from the clients needs. I do however favour a person-centered and cognitive behavioural therapeutic (CBT) framework.
As a clinical psychologist my scope includes work with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, grief and loss, addiction, any adjustment concerns or concerns around identity, and relational difficulties.
