ABOUT

DR PRECIOUS

Precious has over ten years of experience in the field of Clinical Psychology. She identifies herself as a personal construct therapist. Her main area of interest is violence towards the self, family members, and others.

Precious completed her doctorate in Psychology, which explored the phenomenon of paternal filicide, fathers who kill their children, at the University of Hertfordshire, UK. She worked for the Department of Health at the clinics and hospitals treating children and adults, the Department of Correctional Service at different Correctional Centres and Community Corrections, and as a Section Commander at the Investigative Psychology Section in SAPS focusing on psychologically motivated criminal cases. During her years of service, Precious recognised that broken families contribute significantly to children choosing a “dark vision” (Nowinski, 2004, p. 521) in adolescence and later in life. Therefore, it is imperative to restore relationships and build functional family systems.
