"Caring for oneself is not self-indulgent. Caring for oneself is an act of survival."
As a clinical psychologist, I have experience in treating a broad spectrum of difficulties, ranging from everyday problems to more severe forms of mental illness. I have valuable psychological experience working in numerous settings within South Africa, the United States, and Israel.
Although taking responsibility for one’s mental health through psychotherapy is an expression of strength, it may also be a potentially unfamiliar and anxiety-provoking experience. Therefore, I aim to put clients at ease and alleviate anxiety by making use of a non-judgemental, warm, and gentle therapeutic approach. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone for successful therapy and psychological growth.
While I make use of various therapeutic approaches, I primarily work from a psycho dynamic perspective, which facilitates deeper understanding of oneself through making links between past and present experiences, thoughts, beliefs, and emotions. However, I believe in transparency and typically involve patients in a discussion to determine which therapeutic approach will be most suitable. I am devoted to my patients and deeply invested in their continued well being and psychological growth.
I enjoy working with clients from different cultures, races, genders, ages, religions, and backgrounds. I have valuable experience in treating mood disorders, trauma, and bereavement. I also have significant clinical and academic experience in diagnosing and treating anxiety and personality difficulties. I provide a range of in-person and online services, such as individual therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, and family therapy.
