ADULT INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
I enjoy working with diverse cultural groups across different life stages that present with psychological challenges. I strive to create a therapeutic space that is integrative, inclusive, culturally appropriate, and contextually relevant. Therapeutic interventions are informed by a holistic approach which facilitates the utilisation of individually-tailored interventions. I do, however, utilise more Cognitive-Behavioural Therapeutic interventions which have proved effective for short-term and solution-focussed therapy.
I provide individual psychotherapeutic support to adolescents and adults for the following needs: Adjustment difficulties; interpersonal functioning; mood disorders; anxiety and stress management; study skills; sexual functioning; sleep disturbances; trauma; anger management; parenting skills; effective communication skills; addictions; coping with loss and life transitions; financial wellness; spiritual counselling; living with chronic or terminal illnesses; self-empowerment; and wellbeing. Family therapy is available for systems that are in transition and may require a therapist to facilitate effective communication and work towards a positive family dynamic. Interventions are also available for couples at different stages of their relationship. Psychological services are rendered face-to-face in Midrand, Telephonically, and Online.
Overall, I have a keen interest in diverse human experience across all spheres of existence – resolving past challenges, understanding current functioning, and enhancing resilience. The ultimate goal of every encounter is to work towards positive change and facilitate a process of optimal mental health and wellbeing.
